When Nature Takes Over*

When Nature takes over

there is not much that we can do

but to seek cover and pray,  

that our life may be spared

that we continue to breathe Life.

Despite our preparation

we cannot avoid the devastation,

the destruction of properties 

and loss of innocent lives 

when Nature takes over... 

We become helpless

we become powerless

so we seek and pray to our God 

to protect and keep us safe from harm

when Nature rules and takes over.

When Nature takes over

our faith comes into play

we rest our case to our Creator

we hope and pray that we live

and if we die, we belong to His Kingdom.

* Composed by the budding poet/writer who was inspired by deadly tornado/twister that ravaged parts of Oklahoma, specifically in the town of Moore, on Monday, May 20, 2013, killing two dozen people (according to latest news reports) and destroying houses, properties, etc.
