What a Lovely Fall Day; TGIF!

Good Friday, everyone! TGIF (Thanks to God, It's Friday)! Yes, I'm looking forward to a wonderful weekend. I do hope you guys are, too.

As you may have known me, prayer is or has been an integral part of my life. I have a need to pray, to thank God for my life and for my family, folks, and friends all over. I believe in prayer. I do hope you do, too. In this connection, I did pray the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, while still in bed this morning, and while the sunlight has brightened our bedroom. Afterwards, I had the urge to use our restroom. Then, I decided to go out and take a walk because it's so inviting to be out there under the early morning sun.

Man, it's chilly outside! But it's so clear and bright! Ah, Fall weather is truly here! I love it, the coolness of the environment, the crisp, mild breeze that tingled your skin. It's a beautiful feeling! Much more so when, along the way, I met my friends Gladys and Josefa who were coming back from their stroll. We had a brief chitchat on the pedestrian lane. We're so glad and thankful to see each other again. Then, I said, "see you, later, ladies" as I continued my pace, while enjoying music from my MP3 player. I met some joggers and walkers, too. There's this woman with a stroller that she was pushing. In the stroller were two small children. There's also a woman jogger with earphones. I recognized one walker with two small dogs. I just said Hi to him as I continued my brisk walking. At that time, I was becoming uncomfortable with my left hip and lower back. But I kept on going til I reached home.

I did a little walk in our deck, to get some more sunlight. Then, I went up to our room, prepared myself. Yes, I've thought of having breakfast or "brunch" at McRestaurant. I know I still have 30 minutes before eleven (that's the time they change menu, from breakfast to lunch. I wanted that egg-sausage Mcmuffin sandwiches, for 2 for $3.)

At McDonald's, now I've revealed to you my McRestaurant, I'm writing this blog post, while enjoying James Blunt's music (from my laptop) and my McSandwich and a cup of coffee, with sugar and cream, of course.
Beautiful day, indeed, today, Friday, over Hampton Roads and neighboring cities and counties! Thank you, Lord! I noticed how clear, bright blue the skies are while I was walking and passing by an elementary school playground. I didn't see any cloud at all! So clear blue above me with only the golden ball of light shining! Ah, what a beautiful, wonderful feeling to be outside, while the rest of the world are busy, doing their thing.
I'm thankful, God, for your creation! There's that kinda liberating feeling! Thank you, Jesus!

Before signing off, I'd like to say I don't own the video/s I embedded here in my blog post. No copyright infringement intended. I'd like to thank YouTube and the uploader/s of the video/s. Thank you also to Google and Blogger, and, of course, to Facebook.

Well, my dear folks and friends, this is all for now. Until next time around. Take care and have a wonderful weekend, everyone! Don't work too hard. Enjoy the outdoor weather, and have fun, too! As always, I pray, "May God bless us all!"-chris a. quilpa, 12October2012

Praying and Reflecting on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary

Good Friday, everyone! TGIF! Thanks to God It's Friday! That's right, man!Yeah, we're pretty sure we're looking forward to a wonderful weekend, aren't we? You betcha! Thank you, God. And thank you, Jesus!

An hour or so ago, I finished praying and reflecting on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of our Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Mother. Yes, I prayed the rosary along while I was using the restroom in our (Master's) bedroom. Here's the video I used while praying the rosary along.

Would you like to try to watch/and or listen to it and pray the rosary along, too? It takes only 20-21 minutes of your time, you know. It's just like listening or watching a TV show. But it's much more than that if you let yourself be in a state of meditation and relaxation, observing silence and moments of peace while letting the Holy Spirit or the Divine Power takes over you at the moment. What a feeling of relief isn't it? I do hope and pray that you felt something good from thinking about our Savior Jesus Christ while praying and meditating on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, which are: 1) The Agony in the Garden of Getsemany 2) The Scourging at the Pillar 3) The Crowning with Thorns 4) The Carrying of the Cross, and 5) The Crucifixion. These Mysteries are prayed on Tuesdays and Fridays, per our Catholic Church teaching and tradition.

Well, my dear folks and friends, after praying my rosary, I did read a couple of blog posts from a couple of Catholic bloggers (i.e. concordpastor.blogspot.com, abitadeacon.blogspot.com, marysaggies.blogspot.com) that I read or follow on a regular basis. I tell you this: reading theirs help inspire me to do something good in life and inform me or update me with what happened or what's going on around us. I learn something each day from reading their blogs. Thank you, God, for these people and I pray that you always give them good health and energy, and the insights and good judgement to continue writing and sharing their thoughts for others, like me. As you know, I always look forward to reading their blog posts everyday. In fact, I even try to share theirs to our Facebook friends. The articles/videos they wrote and shared are always informative and educational, like those that I read from publications like National Catholic Register, Ignatius Press, Our Sunday Visitor, Los Anegeles Times, etc.

Now, let me stop here. Until next time around. Take care and have a wonderful day and weekend, everyone! As always, I pray and praise the Lord, "May God bless us all!-chris a. quilpa, 28September2012

It's Friday, What Can I Say?

Thanks to God, I didn't have to wait any longer than three to five minutes when I went to pick up my meds refill, this afternoon at two, at one of the military pharmacies in our area. I got lucky or I may say it was timely that there was no other car, except mine, in line at the pick up window. I wonder it it's always like this on Friday afternoons. Especially if it's almost time for the employees to go home when their work shift is over. I found it to be unusual today, unless they were busy this morning. I always knew they're always busy there during weekdays.

Before leaving the pharmacy building, I expressed my sincere thanks to the two cheerful American Red Cross  women volunteers who work there. You know, I can't say enough how much I appreciate what they're doing. They're probably in their 70s and yet they're still active. God bless them! I mentioned to one of the ARC women volunteers, who handed me a small brown bag of my refills, that I used to work at the hospital where they're connected. She smiled and was kinda anxious where I've worked in the hospital. Anyway, I told her I appreciate very much their volunteerism and service to the medical center/hospital and branch clinics.

I dropped by at the Commissary to buy four bags of apples (gala and fuji), four small bags of (ready to eat) vegetable salad, four (at 24 bottles each) cases of bottled water, a 20 lbs. bag of CALROSE rice, etc.

My wife was already waiting in our driveway when I arrived home. Wow, she arrived that early from her school-work, unexpectedly! That's amazing! She said TGIF! Indeed, it is! I was thankful to her for helping me bring in our groceries from the Commissary. I remembered what she said yesterday that one her female friends would be coming over with her college son for tutoring at 6:30 pm.

For dinner, my wife and I had spaghetti with meatballs (that I cooked yesterday) and vegetable salad. I also had that yesterday's leftover fried pork chop. No red wine, this time, for me. I just had a cup of tea and a slice of Cheese Danish twist cake for dessert. Yummy! Thanks to God!

Exactly at 6:30 pm, our visitors arrived. We exchanged pleasantries. We asked them if they want something to drink/eat. But they said no. They told us they just had dinner. (It's customary for us to offer something, i.e. food or drink, to our guests/visitors.) My wife led them to our eat-in kitchen, where my wife usually does her take home schoolwork. The mom, my wife's friend, decided to hang in our family room, watching TV while on the couch (she said, afterwards, that she fell asleep getting comfy there) , while my wife was tutoring her son in Chemistry. As for me, I positioned myself in the living room watching evening news on TV (weather-wise, the meteorologist's forecast that we're going to have a slight snowfall in our region, and that it's gonna be ten degrees cooler this weekend, yay!), while at the same time reading blogs, and visiting Facebook, briefly. Then, I started writing this blog post.

After two hours, I think, my wife's tutoring was done, our guests/visitors gone. Enjoy the weekend, everyone! Until next time around. Ciao!-chris a. quilpa, 10February2012
