Winter is Here; We're at Home for the Holidays

Hi, everyone!

What? Winter is here, already? And it's officially the first day of winter today, huh. I can't believe it! Man, it so unseasonably warm in Hampton Roads. And it continues to be warmer throughout the weekend. I kinda like it, though. The only sign of winter I see is that it gets dark in the afternoon so easily. That is, days are shorter; nights are longer, as we know it. While some parts of the country are experiencing snow storm, we, in Hampton Roads and elsewhere in the East Coast, are enjoying mild weather. Well, that's what it is, dear folks and friends. When do we get to see snow in our area? Don't know. It may not be a White Christmas, for us. But we can dream and imagine, though, can't we.

So glad and thankful we are that son Andrew and daughter Tintin are home for the holidays. Andrew arrived home safely last night, past midnight, actually, while Tintin this afternoon. While waiting for the latter to arrive here in 757 from D-ville, my wife Freny, Andrew and me did some errands this Saturday morning. Our errands culminated at FeLynn's in Virginia Beach where we ate lunch. We had "pancit palabok," "lechon kawali," and 'pinakbet." For dessert we had "turon," linupak," and that rice cake (I forgot the name, my bad!).

Tintin was already home while we were still somewhere, i.e. in Chesapeake or Portsmouth. Anyway, what's important is that both my two young adult children are home for Christmas until possibly after New Year. That's great.  And I'm so happy that they're with us this holiday season. So glad and thankful, too, that their friends are here...at home, as always.

Now, the photos to complete this blog post...Here they are, dear folks and friends...Enjoy!

Well, winter is here and so are the kids who are home for the holidays. Thank God, we're alive and well...So what makes my Christmas 2013 season more meaningful and festive? Family, folks and friends, both near and far, with Faith and Love, for sure.

That's it for now, and thanks, everyone for reading/visiting my blog. Until next time around. Take care and have a wonderful weekend. May God bless US always!-chris a. quilpa
