Reflections and Remembrance of 9/11

Eleven years ago today
I remember still
the tragedy of all tragedies
that befell on the U.S. shores.
I couldn't believe it
what I was witnessing then
like a movie that's been acted
but true and real...

9/11 was born
and destruction followed
lives and properties were lost
families were left behind
in awe and anger
for their loved ones gone
so suddenly, untimely
unexpectedly...
that the world was in shock
and in mourning...

I realized then
how life so fragile and fleeting
how unsafe and unstable our world
that around us there's evil
trying to disrupt our quiet life
wrecking havoc to our lawful land
The Land of the Free...

Eleven years ago today
I remember still
the memories and pictures of 9/11
the vivid images of the hijacked planes
the crumbling and falling of Twin Towers
of the World Trade Center in New York
and those innocent lives lost and gone
like smoke and flames from burning towers
eventually reduced to ashes and dusts.

I can't and won't forget 9/11
for it has become a part of history
world history and the history
of the United States of America.
